This is my first audio PowerPoint video dedicated to one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game, Michael Jordan. This was an assignment I had to complete in Public Speaking with Prof. Izumi at Columbus State. At the time when I created this video, I had horrible equipment. By equipment, I mean my laptop as well as my microphone. I was using an Xbox 360 headset as a microphone, and Windows Media Player Movie Maker. Although the sound quality was bad, I take pride in this piece. Now that I have upgraded my equipment to a Mac Book and its accessories I have be able to complete some good work. I will post a blog with a PSA I complete for a course on a Drug and Alcohol Campaign.

Although this video is fairly short, it has its points. Being able to edit your own material is a huge advantage in the media industry. This is something I practice everyday on my Macbook. When it comes to projects, I never have any problems with a group member not knowing how to or that doesn’t complete the project editing correctly. I’m skilled enough to understand and edit my own materials as well as others. I would like to pursue a career in video production, so I have to get editing down packed enough to make an impact in someones business or in my own. Especially in the sorts industry, no audience wants to see a bad high light reels.
This video could be found very useful to a student who would like to pursue a career in sports broadcasting like myself. Whether its radio or television, this video has some good points on how to go about high light reels in display as well as speech. The video has quick helpful phrases and shortcuts on how to shorten long detailed descriptions. I found this video on YouTube while looking for sport broadcaster interviews. You could subscribe to their channel for more knowledge.
The active shooter video was able to retain my attention the entire video. The violence was appropriate for the video and the contents. As far as the being video being along the lines of realistic, I feel some parts of the videos didn’t seem as realistic. It seemed as if the boyfriend didn’t seem to in touch with his girlfriend, they seemed more as associates to me. Although that isn’t a primary focus in the message or video, I feel as if the could have been more in tune to increase the effect of the video. I didn’t believe the violence was excessive, for the simple fact the video would be displayed to an older audience who should be able to handle the violence in the video. The way violence is portrayed on TV today, the violence in this video would be considered low. As far as Mrs. Maxwell’s approach, providing the procedure to the students was explained pretty clear. Mrs. Maxwell was able to show her students she cares as well as keeping the aware of the procedures as well as away from the shooter. On the other hand, Mrs. Peterson’s reaction to the situation was improper, but understandable. As a teacher, I feel you would have to remain composed for the safety of the students. The audio and videos was portrayed very well, but realistic as well. One specific scene would be the conversation on the phone between the boyfriend and girlfriend. I’m still kind of unsure on how I feel about the police’s response to the shooter. They shot the shooter on sight; from other television programs and law enforcement displays the situation wouldn’t be handled in that way. The age group I would target would be 13 year olds and older. This will grasp their attention at an early age to have a notion on how to handle situations as such. This will also help teachers and staff just as much as the children. I wouldn’t add anything to the video, just would work on the feeling better the actors, other than that I enjoyed.
